I first stumbled across My Little Flower Coffee Shop while in Oughterard, Connemara for the iconic ConneMarathon (great name). That weekend was special bright blue skies, fresh Irish air, Connemara magic, and quality time with my now-wife (we stayed in a wooden caravan in the depths of Connemara).
As one does on a weekend away we went looking to the best coffee in Galway and due to the marathon we only had one day to make this happen so we headed to Oughterard. We found My Little Flower Coffee Shop a quiet, stylish warm gem nestled in the heart of one of Ireland’s most stunning landscapes.

This could also be a place for a foodie stop if you are doing the Wild Atlantic Way – get it on your list now!
About My Little Flower Coffee Shop
Launched in August 2022 by local lad after a ‘complete career pivot‘ according to their website, it was a heartfelt mission to bring meaningful connection to the Oughterard community. Today, it remains that space: a sanctuary for locals, explorers, and coffee lovers to connect, reset, and unwind. Sounds pretty good and few mission statements like this do deliver but I think this does!
Best Coffee in Galway?
What sets My Little Flower Coffee Shop apart isn’t just the vibe (although that alone is worth the visit), but the coffee itself. Sourced locally from Calendar Coffee, a roastery based in Galway known for ethical sourcing and bright, balanced beans, every cup is a taste of Galway excellence. Some even say this is the best coffee in Galway, or even Ireland! The shop also features rotating guest roasters from around the globe bringing fresh flavour experiences to the West Coast, cup after cup. Just look at the above photo to see some of the best coffee roasters in Europe for sale on their shelves! I bought some of course.
It’s the type of attention to detail and quality expected of speciality coffee shops in big cities to find it here was amazing and a testament to the establishment.

This isn’t just a stop for your caffeine fix. My Little Flower is a space to slow down and savour. Whether it’s sharing laughs with locals over lattes or settling in with a book and a brew, you’re welcomed like family… (that sounded better in my head, it’s staying in, but it was super chilled and welcoming and I think we got there with 20 minutes to close which no one really enjoys but they didn’t hate it haha).
And the space itself? It’s bright and welcoming, without pretension. You’ll find stylish charm, subtle design touches, and a curated coffee menu that shows true passion for the craft. I also think there was an outdoor area in the back but I heard someone out their mention their preferred ‘sub 3’ marathon shoe, so we stayed in the front.
Finally I love when coffee is served on a wooden bored with water, not sure why but when it happens I feel happier inside – almost like the coffee gods are flirting with me.
