Good Boy Coffee in Killarney

You know a place is doing something right when a coffee person wakes up early bypasses their AeroPress and make this a daily stop while in Killarney, wishing they had a Good Boy Coffee in their hometown… that person is me.

Tucked into a quiet corner just off the main street in Killarney, Good Boy Coffee is small in size but mighty in flavour. The energy here is chill, the coffee is serious, and the vibes are as local as it gets.

Locally Roasted, Nationally Worth It

Good Boy Coffee get their beans from the amazing Irish roasters Bell Lane. Whether you’re grabbing a quick flat white before a hike or nursing a long black while people-watching on the side street, the coffee is balanced, bold, and bright, no bitterness just right.

If you’re lucky, they might be pouring a batch. While I was there I grabbed one of their Colombia El Meridiano a zippy little number with pink grapefruit and caramel notes that plays beautifully, grabbed a bag and banged it into my home set up too which worked great.

Having their whole bean bags are up for grabs is great. And because they work with such a great roaster, they have a fantastic rotation of bags on offer. Love that!

Not Just Coffee at Good Boy Coffee

While the coffee is the main event, don’t sleep on the food. The bagels are made fresh, filled, and toasted on the spot ideal for grabbing before heading into the National Park or if your hotel breakfast is stale as feck. The bagels I’ve tried were all great, not that I can really remember the names now but sure go and get whatever you fancy.

And for those after something lighter, they’ve got juices and little bites that fuel without slowing you down.

Sustainability Done Right

Killarney is Single Use Coffee Cups

This isn’t just a caffeine spot; it’s part of the wider Killarney community effort. Good Boy Coffee is proudly part of the Killarney Coffee Cup Project, helping the town go single-use coffee cup free. Bring your own, sit in, or grab a reusable 2GoCup for a €2 deposit. Less waste, stylish wee cup and saving the planet, class!

Final Sip

Good Boy Coffee is more than just a cute coffee stop. It’s the type of place that makes a town feel like home. Whether you’re fuelling up before exploring the wilds of Killarney or just craving something solid and caffeinated, this little side-street shop delivers the goods every single time.
