Redbreast 15 Year Old New Release

Alright folks, get ready for a new Redbreast whiskey:: Redbreast 15 Year Old Cask Strength. This isn’t just another release it’s a celebration of 20 years since the original Redbreast 15 Year Old first hit shelves. And yeah, they’ve gone all out. This one is Cask Strength!

New Redbreast Irish Whiskey 15 Year Old Cask Strength

Here’s the rundown:
It’s a limited, small-batch bottling clocking in at a hefty 56.3% ABV, bottled at natural cask strength. No messing around. It’s made from a blend of 15 hand-selected casks (nice touch, matching the age…perfectly), and it’s available exclusively through MidletonDistilleryCollection.com.

Redbreast 15 Year Old was originally meant to be a one-time thing, but fans loved it so much that it became a permanent fixture in the Redbreast range. This new cask strength version dials everything up bigger flavour, bolder spice, deeper character all while keeping that classic Redbreast soul.

What’s it like?

Tasting Redbreast 15 Year Old Cask Strength

This one’s matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks, so you can expect the signature Redbreast flavours turned up to 11 think dried fruits, citrus zest, toasted oak, and that unmistakable pot still spice. It’s rich, it’s vibrant, and it’s got proper depth.

Redbreast 15 Year Old Cask Strength – Tasting Notes

Nose:
Straight away, this one lets you know it’s not messing about. Big, bold wafts of dried fruit sweetness, toasted oak, and zesty citrus peel come through, followed by a green, almost herb garden note. But the real action is in the spice – think clove and cracked black pepper building with each sniff, giving this dram a proper pot still punch.

Palate:
Rich, oily, and absolutely packed with flavour. There’s cinnamon and nutmeg leading the spice parade, with a flicker of chilli heat that dances on the tongue. Then come the fruits red berries in full bloom balanced by smooth toffee, warm vanilla, and a wave of sherry cask goodness. The oak is never too far behind, adding structure and just a touch of bitter tannin to keep things in check. There’s also this subtle nuttiness that rounds things off beautifully.

Finish:
Long, warming, and proper satisfying. The fruit lingers for a bit, but it’s the oak and pot still spice that take the final bow—like a perfectly timed mic drop after a powerful performance.

The Blenders Weigh In on the New Redbreast Whiskey

Master Blender Dave McCabe says it’s a celebration of “heritage, craftsmanship, and character.” And by bottling it at cask strength, they’ve let the whiskey speak for itself — loud and proud. He also noted the choice of 15 casks was deliberate, connecting back to the story of the whiskey’s origin.

Billy Leighton, Master Blender Emeritus, added that when the 15 was first made, it was just supposed to be a one-off. The fact that it’s still going strong two decades later and now has this cask strength tribute says everything about how beloved it’s become. This new one, he says, is both “deeply familiar and thrillingly new.”

Batch-Stamped & One-Off

Each bottle comes with its own batch stamp as per the Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength, marking it as part of this unique release. Redbreast fans who love geeking out over subtle batch differences will have a field day with this one.

New Redbreast Whiskey: Part of a Bigger Story

This launch also ties into Redbreast’s global “Quite the Find” campaign — a celebration of discovering something rare and brilliant, whether it’s a whiskey like this or a story worth telling. They’ve even teamed up with Andrew Scott (yeah the sexy priest fella) and made waves at SXSW with their Redbreast Unhidden film award.
