It’s the perfect pitstop

Báinín Coffee Shop is nestled in the charming village of Annascaul on the stunning Dingle Peninsula and a must-visit spot for coffee lovers and adventurers alike.

Located conveniently along the Wild Atlantic Way, it’s the perfect pitstop for anyone exploring the countless trails, hidden coves, and historic landmarks that make this part of Ireland so breathtaking. It is also where I stop every time I go to and leave Dingle – except that one time I went over Conor’s Pass on a bike… this stop would have been welcomed with open arms that day.

Whether you’re craving a rich espresso, a silky flat white, or a classic Americano, the coffee here is guaranteed to fuel your adventures. I love their bright take away cups (even though I have a re-usable coffee cup) when I am here I have to get one and I usually take the exact same picture but lookit, it keeps me happy.

And then there’s the food, Báinín boasts an impressive array of locally baked treats, sourced from The Dingle Food Company. Think buttery almond croissants, freshly baked scones, gooey brownies, and seasonal delights like pear and almond tarts. For something heartier, their toasties are a must-try. Vegetarians will find tasty options, but the highlight has to be the Annascaul Special, featuring the renowned Ashe’s (award winning) Annascaul Black Pudding and goats cheese melted into a toastie – now I hate goats cheese it tastes like what goats smell like on a farm 9I just don’t understand the appeal) however, this toastie is one of the greatest I have ever had – of all time! Not to be missed!

The cozy, welcoming vibe at Báinín makes it the ideal place to relax and refuel (even a few toilets around the back). Whether you’re gearing up for a hike, winding down after a day of exploring, or just in need of a caffeine fix, this independent coffee shop has you covered.

Also if you are just a bit shattered on the drive to Dingle grab a coffee (which may just be the Best Coffee in Dingle) and something to eat and walk a couple of minutes down to check out The South Pole Pub and Tom Crean’s statue– the Annascaul local lad come Antarctic explorer and finally a publican. If you don’t know who Tom is, go have a read. It’s well worth the stop all round.

If you need to use the toilets, politely ask the lovely team and they will give you a key. Swing around the back and there you find it. Honestly this is a life saver when you feel you are still far enough away from Dingle but need to go!

So next time you’re adventuring along the Wild Atlantic Way, make sure to stop by Báinín in Annascaul. Your taste buds and your adventure-loving spirit will thank you.

  1. This Dingleification of West Kerry has to stop.

Dingle is a town in West Kerry. West Kerry is not the same thing as Dingle.

You can say Corcha Dhuibhne if you want. Maybe the Dingle Peninsula.

But not simply “Dingle”; this has to stop.

This is a joke but also not a joke 😂
